Jonathan Venn
Founder of Blue Ribbon Dive Resort, PADI MSDT Instructor, PADI Freediving Instructor, IANTD Recreational Trimix Diver, PADI Digital Underwater Photography Instructor, PADI Underwater Videography Instructor.
Jonathan started Blue Ribbon Dive Resort in 2010, and has accumulated over 2000 dives. Over the past 6 years has taught hundreds of students and recently became the First PADI Freediving instructor on the beach. Jonathan focus on running the business, teaching freediving and spending as much time taking pictures and video underwater as he can.
Jonathan can speak English and is currently learning Mandarin.
Marcus Black
PADI MSDT Instructor, PADI Self Reliant Diver.
Marcus joined Blue Ribbon Dive Resort in 2014 after retiring from 26 years in the US Army. Marcus is a Master Scuba Diver Trainer and one of the few instructors on the beach able to certify Self Reliant Divers. He also moonlights as a self-proclaimed BBQ Pit Master in his spare time.
Chris Easton
Dive Shop Manager, PADI Sidemount Instructor.
Chris joined Blue Ribbon Dive Resort in 2012 and is now the Dive Shop Manager. Chris is also PADI Sidemount instructor and spends a lot of time teaching. Chris spent 3 years cycling around the world until he got a flat tire in Puerto Galera, so decided to stop and become a dive professional.
Ariel Marquez
PADI Divemaster
Ariel was one of the founding staff of Blue Ribbon Dive Resort. He completed his Divemaster training at Blue Ribbon and became a very talented critter spotter. He comes from Puerto Galera and is one of this island’s famous Karaoke stars.
JunJun Populi
PADI Divemaster
JunJun completed his Divemaster course at Blue Ribbon in 2011 and has been a great asset to the team. JunJun has often been seen on special occasions showing of his signature dance moves.
