Meet The Team

Jonathan Venn

Jonathan is from London, England. Jonathan first dived when he was 11 in Mombasa Kenya, and loved it. 16 years later he decided he wanted to do it as a proffession, and took his PADI Divemaster course in England. The following year he moved out to the Philippines to Puerto Galera to do his instructor course, then never left. Jonathan is very keen on his underwater photography, and also loves when the currents are screaming. Jonathan is the proprietor of Blue Ribbon Divers.

Ariel has been working on boats since he was 10 years old. Ariel was born on San Antonio Island, just a 5 minute boat ride from the shop. He has worked professionally on dive boats for three years in Puerto Galera. Ariel is training up to be a Divemaster, in his open water course he was already finding octopus and other hard to find animals. Ariel is married and has a one year old girl and a six year old boy.

Baz was our first Divemaster trainee at Blue Ribbon Divers, starting his course pretty much when we opened. Baz came from a career as a Royal Engineer diver, where they did slightly different dives to what we do now. Baz decided that diving in Puerto Galera was a lot better than Belfast sewers. Baz instantly became one of the team, and has always got a story to tell and a smile on his face.
