TDI DECO PROCEDURES / HELITROX
WHY DECO PROCEDURES?
Decompression procedures courses take your diving to the next level, enabling planned decompression stops and extended bottom times beyond recreational limits.
At Blue Ribbon Dive Resort, these courses are perfect for:
Certified Advanced Divers ready to move beyond recreational limits
Photographers, explorers, and technical enthusiasts who want to safely extend their bottom time
Divers preparing for Extended Range training
Course Prerequisites:
Minimum age 18
Certified SDI Advanced Adventure Diver (or equivalent)
Proof of 25 logged open-water dives
WHAT YOU LEARN
Your TDI Decompression Procedures / Helitrox training at Blue Ribbon combines theory, workshops, and open-water sessions to develop precision, confidence, and control underwater. You’ll learn how to:
Plan and execute staged decompression dives to a maximum of 45 metres
Calculate gas requirements, ascent profiles, and oxygen exposure limits
Configure, analyze, and label decompression cylinders and gases (air, nitrox, or oxygen)
Perform S.T.A.R.T. pre-dive checks, gas matching, and team communication
Maintain neutral buoyancy and perfect trim during staged stops and gas switches
Use DSMBs for controlled ascent and drifting decompression
Handle emergency scenarios such as gas loss, missed stops, or equipment failure
Training can be done in twinset or sidemount configuration, using the same equipment setups employed in advanced technical diving. You’ll gain the knowledge and in-water skill to manage both depth and time — with precision and confidence
COURSE STRUCTURE
Get Smart with eLearning
Start with TDI Decompression Procedures eLearning, where you’ll explore decompression theory, gas laws, physiology, and dive planning models like Bühlmann and RGBM. You’ll understand how staged decompression works and how to safely apply it in real dives.
Get Practical with Workshops and Drills
Once you arrive at Blue Ribbon, your instructor will guide you through equipment setup, gas analysis, and emergency procedures. You’ll run land drills covering ascent planning, lift bag deployment, and problem-solving techniques before moving to the water.
Go Diving in Open Water
You’ll complete four decompression dives, at least two deeper than 30 metres, right here in Anilao’s clear blue waters. Under close supervision, you’ll apply everything you’ve learned — from gas switching to DSMB ascents — refining your skills with each dive.
At Blue Ribbon, we keep classes small to ensure personalized instruction, giving every diver the focus and feedback needed to excel.
The TDI Decompression Procedures Course opens the door to true extended-range diving — giving you the ability to plan, manage, and execute deeper dives safely and efficiently.
